Food Pantry

The Weymont Food Pantry is celebrating 25 years of serving the Weyauwega/Fremont communities.  Spearheaded by former Hope  United Church of Christ minister, Rev. Curtis Miller and his wife.  Realizing the need for a food pantry in the area, in 1992, four area churches met to discuss the formation of a food pantry.  Representatives from SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Hope United Church of Christ, St. John’s Lutheran Church (WELS) and First Presbyterian Church, all provided leadership and a vision necessary to turn this idea into reality.  After months of preparation, planning and paperwork, the Weymont Food Pantry opened its doors to the community on Monday, January 18, 1993.  As the years went by, Christ Lutheran (MO), St. Paul’s Lutheran (MO) and St. Peter Lutheran (WI) became actively involved in the Pantry efforts with volunteers, donations and leadership.  The pantry has always operated out of the Old Middle School on Main Street in Weyauwega, donated by the Weyauwega/Fremont    School District.

The Pantry continues to meet the needs of more families who struggle with food emergencies.  The W/F School District continues to provide ideal space for storing and distributing food.  Churches continue to generously give of time, money and food.

We give thanks to the Lord and ask that he continues to bless our Food Pantry.

At various times throughout the year, we collect dry goods, paper products, and canned goods for the pantry.  You can bring your donations to the church and leave them at the back of the sanctuary.  Monetary donations are always appreciated and may be placed in an envelope in the collection plate at any time.
