Memorial Fund

What is a memorial gift to a church?

A memorial fund is a charitable fund established to accept donations in memory of a loved one and a simple, meaningful way to honor a life.  People give church memorial gifts as a way to perpetuate the memory of a loved one or to honor a special occasion.

Money placed in the Memorial Fund will be restricted for use only according to the church memorial policy.

The Memorial Committee or the pastor can provide the family with a list of possible memorials or honorariums which may enhance worship, parish life, or the church building.  This list prevents the church from receiving items that are unusable or are contrary to the beliefs and practices of the church.  Some ideas are capital improvements, Christian education materials/equipment, repairs and maintenance, church office equipment, sanctuary furniture, music and worship materials and the scholarship fund.
