PURPOSE: The Team provides an important connection to our members of Hope whose life circumstances no longer permit them to attend church on a regular basis. Teams of two persons, along with the pastor visit monthly, offering conversation, prayers, and possibly communion.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Each team and the pastor will plan a time during their scheduled month for their visits. Teams will be scheduled for one or two months to visit depending on the number of people on the committee. There is a journal provided for the visiting team to write a brief report for future reference. The journal should be located either in the visitation mailbox in the church office or handed directly to the next visiting team.
The chairperson is responsible for updating the names, phone numbers, and addresses of the people to be visited. This information is made available to the team members, the pastor, and the church secretary, along with the monthly schedule for the visitation team. The chairperson will submit the year-end report to the church secretary. Committee meetings may be scheduled as needed or desired by the pastor, the chairperson, or the members.
Any changes in the policy must be approved by the Church Council
All members of the team will abide by the established Safe Conduct Policy.
